Nine students from ESCP Business School, facilitated through the Business Confucius Institute at ESCP EUROPE, joined Beijing Foreign Studies University’s School of International Business for a five-day immersion in China’s technology and innovation sector in mid-May. The cohort visited leading companies including BYD, Meitu, Flyking, Risuntech, and Transsion Holdings, observing firsthand how Chinese enterprises compete in new energy vehicles, artificial intelligence, electronics, and mobile technology.

The visits provided students with direct exposure to current industry dynamics and emerging market trends. At BYD, students learned how China’s electric vehicle manufacturers are advancing technological innovation and scaling global operations. Meitu’s presentation highlighted the intersection of AI-driven imaging technology and digital content creation, illustrating how Chinese tech firms are expanding internationally through AI applications. Visits to Flyking and Risuntech provided insight into precision manufacturing and supply-chain innovation, while Transsion Holdings demonstrated the localization strategies that enable Chinese companies to compete effectively in overseas markets.

Through enterprise presentations, product demonstrations, and facility tours, students developed a more nuanced understanding of the competitive advantages that characterize China’s business ecosystem. Participants noted that the experience deepened their recognition of Chinese companies’ capacity for innovation and their sophistication in global market strategy. They observed firsthand the dynamism and openness driving China’s continued economic development.

The business practice week reflects the strategic partnership between Beijing Foreign Studies University and ESCP, designed to cultivate globally-oriented professionals who combine Chinese language proficiency with business acumen and insight into contemporary China. By facilitating regular student and faculty exchange, the collaboration supports the broader mission of deepening educational ties between France and China while preparing the next generation of international business leaders.
