On December 8, 2022, the opening ceremony of the International Forum of BFSU co-hosted CIs 2022 was held. The theme of the forum was “Promoting Quality Growth of Confucius Institutes, Forming a Global Community of Languages”. Wang Dinghua, Chairman of the University Council of BFSU, Jia Wenjian, Vice President of BFSU, Irina Kraeva, Rector of the Moscow State Linguistic University, Innara Guseynova, Deputy Rector of Moscow State Linguistic University, Yang Zhong, Executive Vice Chairman of the University Council of Nanjing University, Zhang Canbang, Vice President of Honghe University, Màrius Martínez, Vice-Rector of Autonomous University of Barcelona, Léon Laulusa, Vice President of ESCP Europe, and Shana Tong, President of Maryknoll School, attended the opening ceremony. Wang Dinghua delivered remarks via video, and Jia Wenjian hosted the opening ceremony. At the end, Wang Dinghua congratulated the three Confucius Institutes awarded the “Group Award” for the SEE Love (CI)—Culture in Language Teaching Plan Competition, and the five Chinese CI/CC directors honored with the “Outstanding Chinese Director of Confucius Institutes” title for the 2021-2022 academic year. Nearly 100 representatives of Chinese and local board members, directors, and former Chinese directors participated. During the forum, CI representatives discussed “Finding New Opportunities in Crisis: Current Challenges of the CIs and Suggestions”and “Braving New Paths in Disruption: CZ Faulty Development Platforms and Mechanisms”.
