On Nov. 18, 2024, BFSU held the 2024 International Forum of BFSU co-hosted CIs. The theme of  the forum was Writing a New Chapter for Confucius Institutes Through Mutual Learning. Jia Wenjian, President of BFSU; Zhao Gang, Vice President of BFSU; Hamar Imre, then Vice Rector of Eötvös Loránd University; Madeleine Danova, Vice President of Sofia University; Innara Guseinova, Vice Rector of Moscow State Linguistic University; Shana Tong, President of Maryknoll School; Reinhard Pöllath, Founder and Sponsor of Stiftung ex oriente; and Federico Masini, Chair of the CISUR Board, attended the opening ceremony. Noor Zalina binti Mahmood, Malaysian Director of KZIUM, and Mei Chuncai, Chinese Director of CIMSLU, delivered speeches on behalf of the local and Chinese directors, respectively. Jia Wenjian presented awards for the 2024 SEE Love (CI)—My China Story Vlog Competition, the Outstanding Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute for the 2023-2024 academic year, and the Medal for Long Service as a Confucius Institute Director by Chinese International Education Foundation (CIEF).
