On Jan. 9, 2019, the Board Meeting of ELTE-CI was held as a video conference. Yan Guohua, Vice President of BFSU & Vice Chairman of ELTE-CI Board chaired the meeting. The meeting was attended by Lászlo Borhy, Rector of Eötvös Loránd University & Chairman of ELTE-CI Board; Ferenc Hudecz, former rector of Eötvös Loránd University & honorary member of the Council of the Confucius Institute Headquarters; Imre Hamar, Vice Rector of Eötvös Loránd University, Foreign Director and board member of ELTE-CI; Zhang Xiaohui, board member of ELTE-CI & Executive Dean of BFSU School of Chinese Language and Literature; Xu Yanyi, board member of ELTE-CI & Head of Hungarian Language Center of BFSU School of European Languages and Cultures; Jin Limin, Director of BFSU Office of Confucius Institutes; and Li Qikeng, Chinese Director of ELTE-CI.
The board first discussed and endorsed the appointment of the foreign vice director of ELTE-CI. Then Li Qikeng, the Chinese Director, presented the work and financial reports 2017-2018, and briefed the board on new programs of ELTE-CI planned for 2019. The board welcomed the teaching and cultural activities carried out by ELTE-CI and reviewed the financial expenditure details. The Hungarian side mentioned in particular that a BA program of Chinese Language would be launched this September at the Szombathely campus of Eötvös Loránd University, and hoped that the Confucius Institute Headquarters and BFSU could send Chinese teachers in support of their initiative. Furthermore, the two sides also discussed and tentatively agreed on the expansion of student exchange programs between the two universities.
