On May 3rd, Jean-Robert Tyran, Vice-Rector of the University of Vienna led a delegation to visit BFSU and met with Vice President Yan Guohua. Yan reviewed the important consensus of strengthening disciplinary cooperation between the two universities reached by their president/rector on April 9th, and expected the meeting to lay a solid foundation for their later cooperation, such as the exchange of students and scholars in Germanistik, economics and historiography. Tyran emphasized the vital role of Confucius Institutes in promoting China-Austria exchanges and the inter-university cooperation. He gave positive responses to the plan of cooperation proposed by BFSU and held high expectations toward the cooperation between the two sides.
