Local time from Aug. 22nd to 24th, the 3-day ACIG Chinese Language Teachers Forum was held in the University of Gottingen. The forum was open to all the students majoring in Chinese teaching, intern or fresh teachers of Chinese language in middle schools. Prof. Andreas Guder, German Director of ACIG, briefed the audience on the agenda as a host. On Aug 22nd, Dr. Jin Meiling, expert in Chinese phonetics, delivered a lecture on the theme of “The Phonetic Training of Contemporary Chinese Language”. On Aug. 23rd, the forum was themed as “Developing Intercultural Communication Competence in Chinese Language Classes in Middle Schools”. Dr. Kathleen Wittek, an experienced Chinese language teacher in Bettina-von-Arnim Middle School, delivered a speech. On the third day, Dr. Antje Benedix, a Chinese language teacher from Gertrud-Bäumer-Gymnasium Remscheid, made an address on the topic of “Simulations in Class”. The forum was covered by local media of Gottingen.
