On Sept. 17th, Madam Iliana Iotova, Vice President of Bulgaria was invited to visit CIS-affiliated Confucius Classroom in the 18th Comprehensive School and attended its opening ceremony for the new semester. Nadya Mladenova, Chief of the Cabinet to the Vice President; Dr. Mao Yancheng, Chief of the Education Office of the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria; Aksinia Koleva, Director of CIS; Yanka Takeva, Chairwoman of Bulgarian Union of Teachers, and representatives from Russia, ROK, and Japan were among the guests of the ceremony.

In her opening address, Velichka Stoicheva, Principal of the Comprehensive School extended her gratitude to the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria for its great support to the Chinese language teaching of the school, and emphasized the bountiful achievements the school had made in Chinese education through its cooperation with CIS.
