On June 4th, the opening ceremony of CI-UHM “Understanding China” Advanced Research and Study Program was held in BFSU. The program was sponsored by Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban, organized by BFSU and hosted by the training center of the Multi-language Press, FLTRP. 14 students and teachers from the University of Hawaii at Manoa participated in the program. Yan Guohua, Vice President of BFSU; Denise Eby Konan, Dean of the School of Social Science, University of Hawaii at Manoa; Zhang Jian, Dean of the School of English and International Studies, BFSU; and Peng Donglin, Director of the Multi-language Press, FLTRP, attended the Opening Ceremony.

The program, tailored for the University of Hawaii, was taught in English on Chinese culture, education, social life and other aspects.
