From November 3rd to 5th, Training for Volunteer Chinese Teachers in Spain was held in Barcelona. Entrusted by Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban, CIAB was responsible for all the arrangement of the training. It is the first time forCataloniato hold training for volunteer teachers dispatched by Hanban, with a total attendance of 96 trainees. Dr. Joan Elias i Garcia, President of Barcelona University; Zhong Xiwei, Director of the Education Section of the Chinese Embassy in Spain; Guo Jiaoyang, Director of the Division of Volunteer Affairs, Hanban; Chang Shiru, Chinese Director of CIAB and Javier Orduña, Spanish Director of CIAB addressed the event. A reception was held at night at the Consulate General of China in Barcelona, where Consul-General Lin Nan met with all the Chinese teachers. This event not only provided guidance to new volunteers in terms of teaching and life, but also encouraged in-depth communication among volunteers, teachers and universities, CIs, Hanban, and the Consulate General.
